I have a sony KV-X (old) and it is only showing the channels 0-29, is there a way of me getting it to show all the channels. I should also mention that i have not got the remote control.

What do you mean "all the channels"?

There are only five. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. (Plus maybe another one for a VCR or $ky box etc if it doesn't have SCART).

Your old TV may only have 30 presets (numbered 0 - 29).

Maybe your problem is that it isn't tuned. The word "channel" has (confusingly) two meanings.

    One is a name for the TV station. Such as 1 = BBC1; 2 = BBC2 etc.

The other is a term related to the frequency of the radio transmission in the range 21 - 68 in the UK.

For example "Channel 5" may be broadcast on "channel 36" in your area.

Do you now have a better idea what it is you need?

Many TV's have a button marked something like --/- which, when pressed, will allow you to select higher numbers.

i have 30 channels that i can tune to whatever station i have but when i go back from 0 it goes to 29, i need access to the AV channels. As i do not have the remote i thought that i would be able to do it this way. What i am trying to do is set a games console up on the TV using one of the scart sockets. I have a video attached to the other socket but this just comes on when i press play, the console does not. i know the console is not faulty so i need access to the AV channel it is attached to.

There may be a button under the front pannel which will permit the AV inputs to be scrolled through (this is not the channel up/down button).

Look for one that is marked with a symbol which is almost rectangular (TV shaped in fact) with a small arrow pointing towards the centre of the rectangle.
