I'm new to all this. I've just bought the Sony VRC250e and have just registed on this forum. There is not much mention of the low priced cams, was I right or should I go bigger in the future?

I hope I've made the right choice, let me know.

    Cheers.

    Oracle.

If all you want to do is point and shoot then this cam will do the job.
If you want to produce complex multi effects shots with full user control then a more expensive camcorder with full manual override is required.
You get what you pay for and as Duster said, if you're happy with what you got then why spend more money!
Enjoy useing the camcorder, when/if you need more, then you can go and get another higher spec unit.

    Mark.

I'm after a cheap camcorder, and this is the model I'm planning on buying. Although it's Digital8, it seems to do everything I need at the right price.

About the cheapest way of getting something with DV in too.

    :)
