    Hi Everyone.
Have read some great feedback on the forum which really helped in narrowing my decision on a new DV camcorder. (Sony TRV33 or JVC GRDX95)
However I have read reports on other sites of motor noise being very intrusive on the Sony recordings. Anyone found this? Its kinda putting me off.

Also can anyone tell me how they compare on sound quality and low light recording.

I'd also be interested in hearing if people think the additional 6X optical zoom on the JVC (16X) over Sonys 10X is worthwhile. :

Low light seems OK to me, but then I have never taken 20 video cameras out at night to play "which one works best".

    Motor Noise

This is an odd one, it happens occasionally, but not a lot. Usually everything is fine, but if things get very quiet you can just hear it when the gain cranks up.

However wind noise is more serious (as on all video cameras with smal internal mikes) so I'd use an external mike for that rather than motor noise.

Zoom is OK 16X would be nicer but 10 is OK.

You should try both before you make a decision - how important is anamorphic, how important is zoom
