Digital 8 is a variant of mini DV and as such produces equal results. It is certainly not a weirdo system. I was merely seeking opinions of the unit itself.

The 140 is a good machine at that price, but please note that it won't play back any old analogue 8mm or Hi-8 tapes - you need to go to the 240 or above if you require that facility. John
