Sony Trinitron KD-28DL11U problems

Hi Folks, hope you can help.

A friend of mine has one of these TV's and she is having trouble with the TV losing digital channels. Firstly it lost channel 5 for no reason so I tried a rescan to pick up all the channels which it picked up 71, however when I looked at the channels it's lost ITV, Channel 4 and still Channel 5. When I move up and down the channels it goes from BBC1 to BBC2 then it skips to another channel ( which I can't remember ) and misses ITV e.t.c. I have looked through the other channels and they are not there.

I have checked the signal strength and it is excellent, I can't find any reset to factory settings on this TV, so I'm stuck.

Any help would be appriciated.

Going from memory I believe the autosetup button is under a flap on the front of the set below the screen...it cannot be accessed from the main menu...and make sure the aerial is connected to the correct aerial input socket.
This model has a "jumper" RF Flylead which loops the aerial signal from the Digital Aerial input to a separate Analogue aerial input.

Try scanning again with the aerial lead pulled out. This will erase all channels. Then put the aerial lead back in and scan again.
Usually works for me when I have had trouble with Freeview boxes.
