Some will know the story behind my Sony woes but before you bash Sony juts listen to this.Quick recap-THREE FS76U's(all failed) and SIX(i think!!) HQ100's. This saga went on for around a year but we were never withouta TV for more than three weeks. To compensate for our troubles Sony have GIVEN me the following :-

    DVP-NS955 DVD PLayer
    HT-DDW860 Surround Sound System
    VTX-D800U Freeview Box
    4 x WS-FV11 Speaker Stands
    4 x WS-WV10D Speaker Brackets(only needed 1!!)

I'm sure all will agree that that is a lot of FREE product to make up for the problems we had. Remember our fully working HQ100 got wrecked by a Mastercare engineer!! I've read stories on here from others with similar problems from other manufacturers who have got either nothing or a refund(just!)!! WELL DONE SONY!!!!

Well, that's what I would expect customer service to be like. I heard that Sony is only that nice when it comes to their high-end sets though.

Glad to hear Sony treated you well DRGL. I was thinking of buying the HQ100 to replace my 32FQ75 which has been very good. I'm not interested in fancy gimmics, just want a good picture and sound. It would be nice to hear anyone's comments who have got the set.

The picture and sound are both fantastic IMO. The only gripe can be lip sync when running a DVD,if your amp hasn't got an audio delay you may want to consider one that has. This is all down to the picture processing as used on Sony's Plasma's.Some have said the HQ100 is discontinued but Sony(and friends in the industry) tell me it's still avialable. I don't think you will get a better looking CRT :)

"Live" mode is silly(default)-i run personal with the contrast and brightness down like "Movie",i bump the colour up one notch and that suits me.Sound sounds best in "dynamic" to me with the bass and treble cranked up ;) good luck.
