The link is in breach of forum rules. :) If you want i'll host it for you.

Rule 9. Use images from 3rd parties' websites without their permission. Linking to an image on someone else's website without their permission is considered to be bandwidth theft. We have had big problems with people linking to our images without permission and we don't allow members to do the same to other people.
    :)

Have a look in website feedback and forum notices, there is a thread that should clarify for you. :)
Yes, linking to the image from your own webspace is fine.Thanks.

It does look better in gold, though its still as ugly as a brick.

Could someone explain something, the amp is all digital from the pre-amp stage through to the power amp. What I've read (i don't understand though) is that this is the reason why sony won't make a separate pre-amp any more. The TA-E9000es was their last. I don't understand whythey still can't produce a separate pre-amp.

Saw and heard this at the Hi Fi show in london this weekend.

It's a monster! With direct digital SACd and 7x high-end sony speakers, the demo system sounded excellent. Clarity was exceptional but a little dry, I thought. Lacking a degree of punch.

Anyone any other ideas on this? How does it compare with Pioneer AX10i for example or even a seperates set-up like Arcam P7/AV8.

    Thanks

I own the TAE/N Pre+power setup and am very fond of it's sound

(to my ears the best of a large bunch around the 2.5k mark when new)

I'm waiting to hear the DA9000 and possibly it's siblings in an extended demo (only had a 10 minute play with the 9k last week)
First impressions were that it had a bit of a lean sound.. but this is of course source, media and speaker dependent!!

I only hope that the amp retains the parametric equalizer present on all channels of the TAE as this is a fantastic tool for tuning the output to compensate for the room.

But what does the rest of it do?
Seriously, I'm not sure this "shelfed" set of high end AV products are the best idea that Sony has ever had, irrespective of performance they look bloody odd and for many people moving within the realms of WAF it could end up being the decision maker.

    Hi all. :)

    I'm new here, and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. :(
I was hoping you guys would have the latest information about AV equipment, even before it appears in the specialized press, but I guess I was hoping for too much.

The Sony DA90000ES "Master Master Pro" is in production (see picture above), and you don't seem to be aware of it.

Well those of us who work for the various hifi companies littered across the globe DO know of items well before release. There is just the small matter of royally P*ssing off your employer by leaking it.

Strictly MS Speakers and a limited heads up on Marantz products personally. I have heard this beastie and think it is sonically rather good- I just don't know why its so large or ugly.

Tons of fun, I'm sorry to ask, but are you talking about the "DA90000ES" or the "DA9000ES"?

Is'nt it supposed to be a digital amp? I thought that Digital Amps would be much smaller?

I, too am very interested in this bit of kit. Specifically - is the iLink implementation the same as Pioneer's? In which case could one connect a 757Ai to the Sony 9000 over firewire for PCM/Bitstream/DSD?

Whether it's digital or not is irrelevant.

It needs some serious power transformers to kick out 7 channels at 200watts per channel!

Maybe Sony should employ Pininfarina to redesign their next range of AV amps! Bit odd seeing as their plasma deplays, DAV systems and the upcoming PSX all look quite sleek.
