Hi all, well the day has arrived where my 7yr old Denon AVR went pop and left A funny smell, so I am looking to get a Yamaha Musiccast as my new Hifi, and for my budget I can afford either a R-N303 with a reasonable CD player as the R-N303 has DAB / Airable Internet Radio / streaming services etc or a Sony STR-DH190 combined with the Yamaha NT670 which has the same network features as the R-N303.
The reason I chose the Sony as a amp is because it is very reasonably priced and has a phono stage that apparently works well with my Sony PS-HX500 turntable and could well provide better sound than from the built in preamp, how true this is I do not know ?.
Now if I get the R-N303, while my turntable is fully functioning with RCA, I don’t know if a external preamp would work better than the phono stage on the Sony amp, so am hoping someone here could shed some light on this.
I know that the musiccast is a ecosystem that you get locked into, but at least in the future I would be able to invest in a Sound bar and rear speakers without the mess of speaker cables. But the main thing now is to get a fully functional home Hifi system with essential network capabilities.
If anyone has had any experience with any of the above systems and would like to share, it would be much appreciated
