Hi there, new to the forums and havin a few snags with the setup of my amp and the rest of the bits and pieces. What I have and am tryin to run through the amp are:

    PS3
    Toshiba Regza 42"
    Nintendo Wii
    Sony STR-DG500 Amp
Mission FX Speakers and Sub (I think)

I know there is something simple I am missing but I cannot for the life of me sort it out.

I don't mind anyone going right back to basics on trying to help me with this 1 as I'm stumped

    Thanks in advance :)

If you tell us which cables you've got with each piece of equipment we can be more help, but in the case of the PS3 you'd need to connect it to one of your optical inputs and you'd need to tell the PS3 to use optical out and tell it which formats it can send over the optical link.

    Ok here goes

I've got the optical out for the ps3 and have it connected to the amp. I also have the hdmi cable connected to teh tv and the other rgb cable from the ps3 connected to the amp though I'm not sure if I need that. I also tried to run the tv with the optical out cable and it didn't work.

Haha sweet thanks to your advice about switching the audio out on the ps3 menu I've got it working on the speakers now. Tis awesome but I'm still not sure how to get the actual TV running through it. Any ideas?

So with the TV you've also got an optical output?

If so then it should be similar to the PS3, connect the optical cable to your amps other optical input then on the TV menu tell it to send sound out via optical.

No the optical cable alone should be enough for sound.
