    Hi,

I'm new to this forum, so apologies if badly explaiined.

I have just got a KEF KHT 2005.1 speaker system, and am marrying that up with a Sony STR DB940 Amp. I've got a standard 28" TV, with two scart connections, and a standard Video and DVD player.

I've got the DVD player running through the Amp, and just need to adjust the front/rear speaker balance I think.

The issue I have is getting the TV to run sound through the Amp. I thought I'd be able to run it through a scart out to s-video line in on the Amp, but have just found out s-video doesn't carry sound. My guess is I need a scart out from the TV to two audio line in's on the Amp, but am not sure.

Does anyone know about the STR DB940, and how you would run a TV into it?

    Many thanks,
    Nathan.

all you need to do is connect an red and white av cable from the audio out on the front of the tv im guessing to the tv sat channel on the back of the amp and away you go.

    Hi DVDANDY,

Cheers, but surely there is a more cosmetically pleasing solution that cables out the front of the TV all the time? Can I not use the scart in any way to do this?

    Nathan.

If one of the rear scarts can be configured to output s-video, you could use an adapter like this to give you the seperate video and audio connections you're after, without using the front ones.
