sony str-da1200es av amp- what speakers would best suit

Im new to all of this, I have just bought my first av amp (sony strda 1200 es)
i need a set of speakers, however i am not sure which ones would be best suited for this amp, ideally i do not want to spend too much say about £400.00, i do want to have a good stereo sound so was thinking of getting a set of floor stand speakers. and a centre, just to begin wiv and then later add a set of rear speakers. and a sub, i went to richer sounds and they were recommending a set of gale 4040 fronts they were unable to demo them so i was not sure.. any help would be really appreciated

You'll probably be seriously underwhelmed by Gale speakers.

Try to demo a few speakers and a feel for how different brands sound.

Your question is basically "recommend me some speakers". Tough question to answer.
