    Hi,
may be in the wrong part of the forums, apologies if so...

i have a sony dav-sa30 all in one system and have just purchased a reciever/amp. My only issue is that the sony doesn't have an optical or co-axial output for sound, so to get 5.1channel sound, i'm going to have to connect up the 6 seperate channels to the 6 seperate audio in's onthe amp. sounds easy, apart from the fact Sony have these bl**dy connections ( Encased 2 pin ) and the amp takes the universal phono connections. Is there anywhere out there that does a sony - phono converter?

    cheers

Then why not sell the Sony and get a decent standalone DVD player, like the Pioneer DV-575A? Optical and coax out, plus 5.1 out and SACD / DVD-A compatibility. It sounds like Sony's bl**dy connections are standard 2-pin DIN speaker connectors, which you really don't want to be hooking up to line inputs.
