Does anybody know who manufacturers the glass for the Sony 'floating' displays ?

It's a 1024x768 panel so that narrows it down I guess but does anybody know ?

    Cheers, Lee

Dont know but that is one nice panel. I saw that plasma at a trade show here in Sing, I have to say its the best looking plasma (PQ & the unit itself)i've yet seen & I've now seen alot.

Not yet available here in Sing though. Maybe a good thing cause its 2000 sterling equiv more than any other top end 42/43 plasma here.

Anyone actually got this panel? cared to comment on it?

    Cheers

PS. tbrar- still not made my mind up....

I think the 42 inch "floating display" might use a different panel to the 32TS2 and 42TS2 which use fujitsu alis panels - the 42inch fugitsu panel is 1024x1024 alis. The 30inch "floating display" is of course an LCD panel not plasma. I've not had a good look at the 42inch floating display so I can't really comment, but i'd imagine it would be better than the 42TS2 going by the price tag alone!

Yup but price is not always everything.

The Pany 6series are stunning for the price and for any price imo.

I'd be really amused if you found out that the TV you saw at the trade show there was in fact Sony's new 42 inch floating panel "LCD" rather than their new equivalent plasma.

That'd really upset the plasma fans !

    Does that include the 37in?

I'd get a 42" minimum but if you have a specific space requirement that woudl not allow a 42" then the 37in is a fine choice.
