    Hi.

    I really need help.
I have a Sony KV32-FX66, same as KV32-FQ70 with same problems of vertical smearing...
For this problem, I'm going to give it to my brother... but now what can I buy?

FQ70, I've seen has the same smearing I don't want to see again.
FX68 seems to haven't this issue, but someone noticed green outlines under red, and artifacts.
FQ80 is discontinued, now is FQ85.

How was FQ80 about the "smearing" problem?
For "smearing" I mean when the color is shifted out of the edges of an object, painted out and the rest in grey.
Does this TV set have this of other issues?

And about FQ85... is it a good choice... or the Advanced Digital Plus is bad again for smearing problem?

...I'm thinking about a 50 hz TV, but my eyes don't want...

I'm going to lose sleep...

thank you very very much for your attention

nobody seems to be interested in this thread,
however I think that's very important.

the only Sony set I saw haven't the "vertical
smearing issue" is the KV32-FX68, that's simply 100hz.

i would see the FQ85 but here where I live
    no store have it.

but it could be very important for me if some
FQ80 owner try to test the "vertical smearing factor".

    how? that's simple:

take a PS2, plug with your TV using RGB cable (you MUST
use RGB cable and a SCART RGB enabled)
now leave the tray open. you will see in the bottom of
the screen some of Playstation icons:
    "circle, square, triangle or cross"

watch the screen closer and pay attention at these symbols...
you can also enter in the settings menu,
you will see other of these icons.

*IF* colour of the icon is out of relative edges, I mean *painted* out of the object, so FQ80 have the same problem as FQ70 and FX66 sets.

another way to test: see a DVD (connected via RGB!!)
menu with some area painted in light colours like yellow or purple

again, watch at the screen closer.
do you see at the bottom of the area a thin grey line instead
the colour of the object? if yes, the set have the same problem.

    please test your set,
and report in this thread, you will help
    me and other users

    thank you very much
