I have recently come into possession of one of these SACD players, after winning a competition.

I just wondered if anybody has any experience with one of these. I am not going to be able to set it up to around Christmas time, so I just wondered whether it was worth keeping?

If not, does anybody have any idea what one of these may be worth, as long as I keep it boxed.

I don't own any SACD's so it will mainly be used for CD playback.

    I have one of these.
Personally, keep it, for what it's worth second hand, even " new in a box " it's not worth selling, you will be lucky to break £150.
It's a well made machine, the CD replay is O.K. but SACD replay maybe isn't the best available, it's not that bad, but I have heard better.
If it's true Sony ( and others ) will introduce more hybrid releases during 2003 than previously, you will be able to take advantage of the multi-channel DSD layer through a suitable amplifier.
Recently I bought the Rolling Stones SACD re-issues, the sound benefit is worth checking out even if you can only use 2-channel stereo.
For what it cost you it is a fantastic value SACD player.

I've got a Sony SCD-XB770, bought it cheap in a closing down sale.

At first it sounded a bit 'hard' on Cds but after a few weeks bedding in it got better, CD and SACD particular Multi channel sound great.

Keep it, I think you will be pleased with it.
