    Anyone still use one?

Mine is great for CD replay, hardly skips but on DVD disks it skips a lot, even if the disks are new or clean.
Tried disk cleaners and the like.
    Any ideas?

Its a shame as I think it still looks OK on video, even at 480p
Obviously not as high resolution as the PS3 or Panny Bluray I had, but it 'looks' good, colours and graduations etc.

Also, any idea what the 'jog' button does on the remote? All it does is the button lights up red when pressed :D

Quite a common falure point on early sony dvd players
The lasers have two as such one to read cd and other to read dvd
    Hence the issue of ....

Cheers, may not be economical to repair. Will stick to using CD's then, no bad thing as its a cracking player!

My S9000ES developed a problem with the disc tray mechanism. Over time the tray would fail to open completely. You could hear the motor trying to open the tray but it would just open an inch then close. I was told by a Sony tech years ago that it is impossible to find parts to fix the tray.

Do any other owners have a problem with the tray mechanism?

Mine is a little slow when first turned on, but speeds up after one or two tray loads.
