The smartlink seem to work fine but having finished recording it does not turn the VCR off. Its a JVC VCR so maybe I don't have full functionality.

Does anyones turn off at the end? Thanks.

Thanks jaymac. Silly me. I saw 800 on the remote and thought thats it! Its the Sony STB VTX-D800.

There is something else it does too. When you power off the VCR the Sony does not start outputting freeview until I swicth it off and on again.

OK I had a word with Sony and they say it is a known problem with certain VCRs and should be updated OTA in the next six weeks.

Cheers digiman, ref .switching on/off have you tried the other smaller button TV/DTT that should do it. Also I presume you just have one scart from the stb to vcr and no scart from vcr to tv?

Yes, that does it, Jaymac. I guess, it should just release AV2 automatically. Still I prefer that then on/off. I'll wait for the update. I also mentioned to Sony the S-Video on AV2 only being available to Sony VCRs. He said he would see what he could do (yes, sure!). Thanks.

Well I think the update is actually a bug fix from the latest update. Prior to that if I watched a video it would always return to freeview now sometimes it goes to analogue others it goes to freeview but not RGB I have to use the switch to get back.I'm still waiting for sony to get back to me on that.
    cheers

You are right. Sony said it happened in the last update.
