Sony RM-X800 Smartlink

    The smartlink seem to work fine but having finished recording it does not turn the VCR off. Its a JVC VCR so maybe I don't have full functionality.

    Does anyones turn off at the end? Thanks.

    The D800 turns my old panasonic on and off. Whats a RM- x800

    Thanks jaymac. Silly me. I saw 800 on the remote and thought thats it! Its the Sony STB VTX-D800.

    There is something else it does too. When you power off the VCR the Sony does not start outputting freeview until I swicth it off and on again.

    OK I had a word with Sony and they say it is a known problem with certain VCRs and should be updated OTA in the next six weeks.

    Cheers digiman, ref .switching on/off have you tried the other smaller button TV/DTT that should do it. Also I presume you just have one scart from the stb to vcr and no scart from vcr to tv?

    Yes, that does it, Jaymac. I guess, it should just release AV2 automatically. Still I prefer that then on/off. I'll wait for the update. I also mentioned to Sony the S-Video on AV2 only being available to Sony VCRs. He said he would see what he could do (yes, sure!). Thanks.

    Well I think the update is actually a bug fix from the latest update. Prior to that if I watched a video it would always return to freeview now sometimes it goes to analogue others it goes to freeview but not RGB I have to use the switch to get back.I'm still waiting for sony to get back to me on that.

    You are right. Sony said it happened in the last update.
