just got my new Sony GX7 as a replacement for a Philips dvdr 880,AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE GOOD.

Build quality is top notch and a vast improvement on the 880.Initial recordings seem good, setup was a doddle and the remote is quite nice(although this is made redundant by Philips pronto neo).

Haven't tried pre recorded dvd's as of yet as I have a Pioneer 747 purely for playback purposes.

Got gx7 from Empire Direct with a 3 year extended warranty for £643,and only had to wait 4 days for delivery:)

I would be interested in learning more... I am on the verge of purchasing a GX7 (I think) over a GX3...

...or it could be a Pioneer 3100... just can't find that something to swing it...
