Sony RDR-HXD995 switches on when recording - can this be stopped ?

Just got the HXD995 and impressed so far.
Connected as below -
Sky+ box TV scart to Scart 1 on HXD995
Scart 3 on HXD995 to TV Scart (only RGB Scart on TV)
TV aerial looped through digital & analogue tuner on HXD995 to TV.

So I've copied SKY+ and the HXD995 in series so as both can use the single RGB scart on the TV.
So I'm sat there watching TV (with HXD995 in standby) or recordings off the Sky+ box and then the HXD995 switches on when a recording starts (on the HXD995) - this then stops me from watching the Sky+ box.

Any ideas/suggestions/workarounds ?
Only thing I can think of is to not use the pass through and connect the SKY+ direct to TV and connect the video Scart from the Sky+ box to the HXD and then Scart 3 on HXD to a non-RGB Scart on the TV.

Hi Mark

The workaround is to push the Channel + button on the unit istelf to force scart passthrough.

It resets itself at the end of recording - or you can switch it at will.

Unfortunately it does seem to be a limitation of this machine. Yes.
