Regarding my Sony RDR-HXD970. Could someone please comment on how this machine performs the dual layer switch over when playing DVD movies? I have noticed that there is a slight pause during a movie which I assume is when there is a layer change. I can replicate this effect when watching the Apollo 13 DVD. 1Hr 3Min 4Sec into the movie there is a slight pause in video, also the Dolby Digital Bit Stream output is briefly interrupted to my Sony amp causing the blue decode led on the front to drop in and out. This does not happen when I watch this DVD and others on my Toshiba SD-330E player which handles the layer change seamlessly with no video pause or Dolby Digital Bit Stream drop out. Do I need to consider getting my machine replaced or if others are experiencing this problem can we expect a software upgrade to solve this problem.
