Just bought a sony rdr-hxd970. Made my first recording from Sky box in HQ+ mode. The programme is about 50mins. Did a quick playback to check recording and it looked fine. Continued to watch TV throught the DVDR and after about 15mins the TV went blank indicating that the DVDr was no longer receiving a signal from the Sky box. I tried to switch the DVDR off but no response. There was no change on the display (L1 HDD light).
I had to resort to switching off the DVDR by holding down the on/off button. I left it off for a while and turned on but all I get is the welcome message and it does not respond to any commands on the remote.
Has the machine crashed.
Any advice welcome before I go through the hassle of return
