Sony RDR-HXD710 display

Just got my '710 yesterday, and initial impressions are very good.

One slight problem I have is with the display on the unit itself. When you view the display from slightly below, the casing obstructs the bottom of the characters.

Viewing from above is not a problem, so I guess that the machine was designed for putting below a TV rather than high up on a rack.

Looked at a GXD500 in the shop today, and it is not the same at all.

Any other 710/910 owners noticed the same?

Hi...about the display on the 710, yep mine is the same, I can't see the face from where I sit...got to get up and look, very poor lumination too, still it keeps me active. Bad one Sony.
