Sony RDR-GX300 Recording problem

I have a Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder and have an intermittent problem with it.
Occasionally when I go to record using videoplus+ the recording will start when the channel logo appears (before start of programme eg. the motorbikes spinning round on BBC) and then as title appears on programme I want to record the DVD stops recording. It doesn't happen all the time-has anyone else had this problem-and if so how did they fix it?

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know this machine... but judging by your description, this sounds much more like a typical PDC problem ... assuming this model is equipped for PDC.

It is caused by the broadcasters... and it likely to occur at such transition points in programming as various parts of the broadcasting network drop in and out... and the PDC signal gets dropped somehow.

If it is that, there is no way around it... except when programming your unit, you switch PDC off... in which case the unit will record to the times you put into the timer.
