Sony RDR-GX3 and Video Playback

    I am happy with this DVD recorder but have a question about the settings for playback. The default settings have C NR (chroma noise reduction), Y NR (luminance noise reduction), and B NR (block noise reduction) to 2 (out of possible 1,2,3). Are these helpful or should I switch it off completely, I think I read somewhere that keeping AI controls off was the best way, maybe the purist's approach?
