    Hi,
I've just started using this DVD recorder but find I cannot watch the recorded DVD's on another player.
There is reference to this in the manual (something to do with finalising?) but I'm afraid it makes no sense.
    Can you please help?

    Thanks
    John

    Yes.

After you've recorded a DVD, for it to be playable in a machine other than the one it was recorded on (or another virtually identical machine) you have to "finalise" the disc. This process adds a technical "table of contents" which is required by other machines to find the data on the disc, and a disc menu.

There will be a menu item in the recorder to do this.

Pretty simple, huh? Or am I missing something?

Thanks, got it sorted now; always too much information in the manuals.
