    Hi

I've just upgraded from a philips DVDR70 to this sony model and now I have some queries.

When I used the Philips one I was able to transfer the recording from that to my pc and edit it with TMPGenc DVD authour and ship it back out.

However - with the Sony one - it appears that the bitrate is too high - and once redited it will be a non standard DVD. (well that's what it says)

If this is the case - is there anyway to turn down the bitrate on the Sony so that it fits into the DVD standard - or should I ignore the Error? :lease:

Sorry if this sounds stupid - But I got a lot of tapes to archive, and I'm somewhat flumouxed

    Thanks
    Frank

What recording mode are you using? HQ? If so you can try importing into TMPG MPEG Editor.

I'm using the 2 Hour mode for it.
