Sony RDR-gx 300 Queries

    Hi

    I've just upgraded from a philips DVDR70 to this sony model and now I have some queries.

    When I used the Philips one I was able to transfer the recording from that to my pc and edit it with TMPGenc DVD authour and ship it back out.

    However - with the Sony one - it appears that the bitrate is too high - and once redited it will be a non standard DVD. (well that's what it says)

    If this is the case - is there anyway to turn down the bitrate on the Sony so that it fits into the DVD standard - or should I ignore the Error? :lease:

    Sorry if this sounds stupid - But I got a lot of tapes to archive, and I'm somewhat flumouxed

    What recording mode are you using? HQ? If so you can try importing into TMPG MPEG Editor.

    I'm using the 2 Hour mode for it.
