    Please help!

I have a Sony RDR DC-100 DVD/HDD player/recorder which is now just over a year old. It records fine & I've had none of the problems with the EPG that some people have had. It is currently running firmware 1.05.

My problem is that when I'm playing back a movie that I've recorded, it often pauses for up to 10 seconds, then carries on, then pauses and can do this repeatedly. It might then play for an hour or more, then this pausing starts again.

I've tried a reset - is there anything else I can do? It's very annoying!

    Ben

    Welcome to the forum.

There does not appear to be any routine available to deal with hard disk fragmentation which is what this symptom suggests.

Probably the only practical measure you can undertake is to reformat the hard disk [ See page 82 of the manual ] .... but this will mean losing all your recordings unfortunately.
