The not-so-hotly anticipated PS3 3D display will join the PS Vita in not being present in any European Christmas Stockings, this year, as online retailer Amazon have apparently been contacted by Sony to inform them there will be no stock this side of Yule.
According to an Amazon spokesman: "We have been informed by our supplier that there will be a delay in obtaining stock for this item and it will no longer be released in Europe in 2011."
The PS3 3D monitor was announced at E3, back in June, and features a 24" display and will, eventually, be bundled with a 2 metre HDMI cable and 2 pairs of active shutter specs on release. It was originally slated to ship with a copy of Resistance 3 but we guess that may change to a more up to date title at the time.
The monitors 'big trick' is its ability to allow 2 gamers to play competitively or cooperatively, in 3D, whilst each has their own unique full screen view but pre-release complaints on pricing - it will cost around £400 - might mean it has an uphill struggle to gain momentum in the market, bearing in mind you can get 50" of multi-functional 3D plasma screen for not much more.
