I'm new to the world of Progressive scan dvd players and TV's, I've got a question, will my Sony DAVS888 dvd player be able to put out a progressive scan output while playing a PAL dvd to my new Panasonic PD50 TV? I'm sure i read somewhere that it only gives out a NTSC Progressive Scan output. Please help I'm VERY confused.

I don't know that machine but what are you confused about? If a player can only output NTSC in progressive then it'll output PAL as interlaced. A digital display like a TV or projector will do the deinterlacing for itself if it isn't fed de-interlaced (aka. progressive).

Not sure what else you may be getting at. :)
