    Hi,
Ive just taken the plunge into the plasma world and purchased a 37" Sony plasma (KDE-P37XS1).

Attempted setting up system last night into the early hours.

Im trying to get best picture possible from this new tv.
Currently, the picture quality is OK (with t.v. DVD etc.), however I think it could be much better.

Clarity/sharpness of images is not fantastic and also, 'actors faces' etc on tv and dvd seem some times to allmost be 'painted'.

Has anyone got any top tips????

Please help is possible, any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

I have the same set and rate the PQ highly.
The "painted faces" is solarisation which all plasmas suffer from to some extent. You need to play with the contrast/brightness/colour to reduce this (standard settings are very high). The "cool" setting helps too. I see it occasionally on Freeview and don't see it at all on DVD.
I've found that for best PQ use Freeview for terrestrial TV, RGB scart into AV1 for Sky, and component into AV4 for DVD.

How close are you sitting to the screen?
