I have a top of the range Sony Plasma (PFM-510) which cost me a small fortune a few years back. I also have an original Yamaha S700? DVD player that has given up the ghost. Good excuse to treat myself to a nice new DVD. Am looking at Denon 2200 or 2900 but cannot tell if my Sony Plasma supports progressive scan. It is blessed with multiple inputs but I only use S-video at the moment. It has component input but it is a bnc connected setup. The spec in the manual says it has: RGB 0.714 Vp-p/non-composite, 1 Vp-p/composite, 75 ½ automatic termination, loop-through YUV 0.7 Vp-p/non-composite (U/V), 1 Vp-p/composite (Y), 75 ½ automatic termination, loop-through HD/COMP, VD H (or composite) sync, V sync, 1 - 5 Vp-p, high impedance, loop-through Which means nothing much to me at all I am afraid. My amp supports 3 pin phono component out - is it worth spending the money on a PS DVD player ?
