I want to transfer DV video to DVD disc using the above. The 890 has a firewire input (small 4 pin). The PC9 also has a small 4pin connector which I normally use for editing on my PC.

My problem is that the 890 does not receive a signal from the PC9. I know the 890 Firewire input is OK as it can receive pictures from my PC usin Adobe Premier output.

Is it the case that the PC9 firewire (i.link) connector defaults to input? If so how can I make it output?

Turned out to be the cable. Cable Universe sent a replacement FOC. Everything is perfect now.
