I have recently bought a Sony DVP NS300:) , however while viewing two separate films a delay/pause has occurred after approximately 60 minutes :( . Although not major it is very annoying, What is the delay for? Is it a common trait with this player? How can it be fixed? Is it the suppliers fault as it was bought chipped? Any help would be very welcome!!!!

that's the dvd player switching layers. they all do it. see the back of the dvd "layer switching may trigger a slight pause" it will say. most dvd's have 2 layers, so the dvd player starts on one, and then has to refocus to the 2nd layer at the appropriate time - that's the pause. there is not a problem with your player.

The layer change is better than flipping the disc over half way. Some discs you cant tell where the layer change is (Air Force one superbit version). If it bothers you you could try the new Denon players (£800) or maybe VHS??? (only joking!)
