    Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether the P900 can be programmed to be used as an AV remote control?

    Thanks,

This could be ideal for me - I was thinking of getting a Pronto and/or PDA plus my phone contract is about to expire too. Kill 3 birds with one stone perhaps.

Any idea what its effective range is?

I thought that the range of the IR is very limited due to low power of the phone.

AFAIK, the phone would have to be within 1 metre of the TV/appliance - at which distance you may as well just push the button with your finger.

    What range are you getting?

The phone is about 2m from the tv, this is more than i was getting from a palm tungsten pda.
