Sony NWZ-A865 Bluetooth streaming to Alpine CDE-113BT car stereo problems.

Great little player but I just cannot connect it to my car stereo. Get's as far as a flash of the pin entry screen but then cancel's itself before I can pair the device using the pin and then says there has been an error. The head unit I have in my car is an Alpine CDE-113BT. I have update firmware and reset both devices to now avail. I also cannot connect this player to my PC via bluetooth either.

Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve this?

You could try loading the latest firmware on the Sony or Alpine in case yours is not the latest or it has corrupted but bluetooth can be flaky - just because they both have it doesn't always mean they will work together. Have checked if there is a firmware update for the Alpine?
