I'm off on holiday next week & was wondering if the drive is anyway affected by the x ray equipment at the airport?

I bought mine at Schipol on the way to Malaysia, so it went through the x-ray without any problems, I think its more likely to be affected if you go through the magnetic metal detector with it in your pocket, so I made sure it was in my hand luggage, mind you it was still in its box then.

That's a good question and one I hadn't thought of.

Speaking of airports and holidays .... I take it it's safe to use an MP3 player on a plane? Don't know that I could cope with a 9 hour flight of boring in-flight entertainment - no offense mum!

I've taken my iPod through xray machines a few times with no problems and also used it on the plane with no complaints from anyone.
