I need a portable minidisc to use for jogging. I have previously bought a jog-proof CD walkman which wasn't and I was wondering whether the Sony minidisc really are jog-proof. I have decided on the 510 as it meets all my needs and before purchasing I wanted to check if anybody has been running with this model - Does it do what it says on the tin?

The "G-Protection" on modern Sony Miniidisc units is thought to be very good, at least virtually unskippable. For example see this thread at Minidisc T-board. I can't personally vouch for this as I don't go jogging, though it seems that only excessive activity will perturb these units. I don't know if hat's good enough for you.

I've got one of these players and whilst I don't use it for jogging, I can confirm that for fast, brisk, powerwalking, it doesn't skip.
