I can see the computers under video but they are grayed out. I'm pretty new at this so I would be grateful for any suggestions.

What DLNA server are you using ?

Well try this, download Serviio and install it, make a note of your TV's IP address and in Serviio on it's main control panel you will see IP address of any DLNA device on the network (TV might be the only one), for the TV IP address click where it says "generic DLNA profile" text and from the drop down box select Sony N-100 profile.

After that add in a few folders for Serviio to monitor and see if you can connect to Serviio on the N100 after that.

I added Serviio and it shows the movies but not the tv shows. Also it only picked up the 1st media player and my laptop but not the second media player. Did I do something wrong?

In serviio have you added the folders you want to share ?

Can you explain you setup, you have a Sony SMP-N100, a PC running serviio, you suggest you have other devices ? What is your 2nd media player ?
