Sony LCD Colours gone bandy/256 colour?

Was watching a film through hdmi yesterday when i noticed all the colour palette on the tv had been seriously restricted.
The colours did not flow nicely to each other in other words and seemed all banded. I thought maybe it was the player, so on i turn the xbox360 (through component) and its exactly the same!

I think its a kdl s3000 or d3000

Edit: It looks alot like the pic here on the left:

Edit 2: seems like its the tv, all i have to do is touch it or move it 1 cm and it flickers between 'nice dithered mode' and 'horrible bandy mode'

Hi

As it is the same with component and HDMI it's unlikely to be a faulty lead (first thing to look at!).

So it would seem there is a loose connection in the TV or the TV video board is faulty.
