SONY KV32LS60U blinking standby lamp

Hi there, firstly, I realise this is a pretty old TV (one I inherited) but up until a week ago it was working fine.

One evening it just switched off and now, whenever we switch on the standby LED blinks in a pattern of 4 blinks, which I understand is an error code of some sort but the instruction manual just says to speak to Sony.

It is repairable and if so, how costly is it likely to be do you think?

Many thanks guys:D

The error code being displayed can indicate a couple of problems. The main one being a fault in the frame stage(vertical) or the supply voltage to the frame output chip.It is also possible this chip is dry jointed which is a very common problem.Easy enough to repair but the cost thats more difficult as it varies from area to area and company to company.

Many thanks for your help. I am in Kent and have been searching for someone that could come to the house to fix this if poss as it is SOOO heavy!

I thought I had found someone locally but then noticed that they are no longer willing to work on CRT TV's, so it is back to the drawing board I guess.
