i was in the process of ordering a panasonic PD30 when i luckily dropped on this forum...and after reading the 'sticky' i dumped this idea

i'm now looking at the Sony KV32FQ70 (hoping its not too related to the 75???)

has anyone any comments on this TV?

BTW what's a PF2 and is this better than the Sony above?

Please help me through this minefield Thanks :smoke:

Got the Fq70 and love it.

No tv is perfect but having been through 1 JVC, 3 PanaCRAPics and a fx68, the FQ70 is leagues ahead. Geomtry is as perfect as I think you will get on a CRT, convergence very good, and pictures consistently good.

Does suffer from minor red bleed but nothing too bad - don't really notice it. Sound is a bit naff but I am in the process of getting an AV system so not bothered.

Got mine from JL with 5 year warranty, price matched with Techtronics and got a free DVD player! ;)

    Go get one!!!

    Hi Baal,

The FQ70 is the replacement for the FX66, I have one and have been very happy with it.

The FQ75 was replaced with the FQ80.

If I had £1500 I think I would be tempted to go for a higher specification model. The FQ70 can be picked up for under £900 now.

I don't really have any moans about the FQ70, though.

don't want to appear like a clown :clown: but.... :p

...the thing is that I don't know what extra i would get with a higher spec

i wondered around Comet this evening and with the s***ty analogue inputs all the TV's were running all the pictures looked the same :suicide:

if higher spec means better sound then i'm not interested....i've already got a dolby surround thingy sorted :D

what should i look for in a higher spec television?

    BTW thanks people for replying:D

    hiya baal :)

i'd go for a loewe set if i had the funds [just got a sony 32fx68  really pleased...]

i'd do a search on the forums here for the loewe threads as pretty much anything done by them is about as good as you're gonna get :D :) [along with b&o ;)]

good luck in your quest :)
    keep us posted

Hi , after one sad and frustrating year getting my Panny PB50 replaced three times I gave up and bought the Sony FQ80

This baby is very similar to the FQ70 apart from more bells and whistles .

I can say for sure you wont be dissapointed with the Sony ,in my opinion it's much better than the panny in terms of PIC

Just do a search for this set (FQ80)on AVFORUMS , you wont find that many links when compared to the Philips and Panny sets , that speaks volumes as most of these threads are about faults and general bad points .

    As a X PB50 owner I dispair when I read about all these PD30 faults .

    go for Sony mate !
