Does anybody know what the difference is between the Sony KV32CS70 and the Sony KV32CS71???
Hi Kblt1, welcome to the forums !
It seems that the KV32CS71 is the replacement model for the KV32CS70 and is available here in the UK.
But does anyone know the reason it has been replaced seen as it's fairly new? And also does anyone know if the new model has any extra features or indeed and lesser features to the CS70?
I think the only difference is that the CS71 doesn't have a sub-woofer built-in, and should therefore be cheaper.
I've had various responses from various websites that sell it, one said the difference is it looks slightly different in appearance from the CS70, one said only internal features have been modified i.e. the CS70 had internal issues that needed to be sorted and Sony said they had never heard of that model aned asked where I had got my information from!
I think that says a lot about electronics retailers in the UK.
You might want to check with the retailer which version of the CS71 they're selling. If the full model name doesn't end with a U then it's probably not an official UK version.
Sony got back to me with this
"After investigation it appears that the KV-32CS71U is not a UK model and as such we do not have information regarding it. I can advise however that the KV-32CS70U has not been discontinued."
So the KV32CS70 on websites such as the ones found on pricerunner, what country do they come from cos I can only find a KV32CS70U at Currys?
If it's actually a 32SC71B then it probably comes from Ireland (or was intended for supply there) but could also have come from France.
Thanks for all your help.
Does anyone know what the TNS means at the end of Sony KV32CS70TNS??
...and now I've seen a KV32CS70S!
What do all these codes mean? Is there another thread that covers all these codes I'm confused.
I think the 'S' is something that certain retailers add on the end to denote 'silver' but the TNS bit is a bit more confusing! Could be saying that its a package i.e. TV + stand, or TV + DVD player, that kind of thing, maybe...?
Standard Sony country suffixes are,
S usually means 'with Stand'
I've been following the above discussions with interest after trying to track down various Sony KV32 models. Despite significant effort (yesterday), I've been unable to find reasonably priced KV32CS70U or KV32FQ86 - both were apparently available for ~£450 until a couple of weeks ago.
I'd really like a subwoofer with my 32" Sony, but the only models around now seem the KV32CS71, for ~£400, and this seems an import (from above discussion).
I'd be VERY grateful if anyone knows of any available KV33CS70U or KV32FQ86 (at non exploitative prices - say sub £500).
Many thanks !
