Does any one know if this is a good set, or know where there is a review on the net of it.

There's a review of the 24" at http://www.whatvideotv.com/testbench/Televisions/Sony/SonyKV-24LS35U.shtml and the 32" at http://www.t3.co.uk/review.asp?rev_id=1921&category=TVS and a few other magazine websites.

It's quite a good set from what I read and people on the forum seem happy with them. Some magazines complained about the geometry, some others didn't. I guess it depends how lucky you get (like all TVs).

The LS60 is a step up and well worth the extra bucks (I have one http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37326&highlight=sony+kv28ls60 ;)).

    Thanks Squirrel

It has to be the 28" set as a 24" is too small and as for the 100Hz or a 32" I cannot afford the price of them.

Yes, I have a 28" for space reasons too. I only posted the 24" and 32" reviews because I couldn't find a 28" one; but they're the same sets, just different sizes, so the reviews are valid. :)

    Hi Squirrel

Were exactly did you get you Sony? Also I went to the Sony site UK and only the 35 is there, is the L60 still a current model.
I think one of the specs the 35 does not have is, auto widescreen , I take this means it does not open up automatically when a W/S picture is being transmitted! Does yours?

Bought it from comet.co.uk and then got Barclaycard to price match it with the Empire Direct price (they refunded the difference :)).

Absolutely. LS35 is the older model. Sony haven't updated their UK website. The LS60 has only been out a few months. You'll find the spec on their European website: http://www.sonyeurope.com/

I'd double check that instore with an LS35 if you can Garrett. It's probably a typo. It surely must auto switch to widescreen - I haven't heard of a telly that doesn't (apart from maybe the odd Bush model). Yes, the LS60 does auto switch and you can turn off the auto switching too :)

    Thanks Squirrel

I was looking on the Comet site as I would prefer to get it from them rather than Empire i.e. a better price, but I could not find the L60, yet I can find it at Empire, and with it not being on the Sony UK site I thought it an old model that was going out.

    Hi there

I have done a quick search and have found that the Sony KV28LS35S is being advertised for 509.94 pounds at www.prcdirect.co.uk, hope this useful

I currently considering purchasing the 32 inch version due to all the problems i have read regarding the sony sets with 100 hz and digital processing.

    Regards

    Joe Rubido

I bought from Comet because of the after sales service I had received with my previous TV purchases (I had no hassle exchanging and getting a refund). Comet only advertise items that are in stock on their website. So if it's not listed there, then they're out of stock. Perhaps if you give them a call they'll be able to give you an indication of when they'll be getting more in.

I don't know what problems you are referring to, but there are no 100Hz problems on the LS60 because it does not have the extra digital processing that can cause these problems - it's just plain 100Hz :)

Thanks for the above Squirrel and jrturbo

I think I may just have to see and see if |I can find somewhere I can compare the two models at the same time.

    Hi,

Just checking out some of the links in this thread to the Sony products as I was after the 32LS60 and I've noticed that the 32FX65 (100hz Wega) is cheaper than both the 32LS60 and the 32FQ75(100hz Wega)?! I was thought that the Wega product was better than their standard products, unless the 32FX65 is last years model and has been superceeded by the 32FQ75?
    Thanks
    Confused.

The FX65 and FQ75 are old models. The FX66 will soon replace the FX65 and there is a similar replacement for the FQ75 (FQ80 I think). Both these models (FX65 and FQ75) have reported "scrolling bars" problems (have a look at Fwan's thread on this forum). There are so far no reports of scrolling bars on the LS35 or LS60.

All Sony sets are Wegas these days, including the LS35 and LS60.

I've had the 28LS35 for a few weeks and I'm very happy with it.
Just to confirm, it does do autoswitching.
The PRC direct price quoted in an earlier post is very good, so I would double check that the stand is included. I have my doubts.

Didn't realise they were all Wegas now  Oh well, you guys seem to know what you're talking about, so LS60 it is then for the extra £100 or so. Hopefully they won't be replaced by the time I'm buying it(about 4 weeks) otherwise it's back here again with more questions!!
    Thanks again

    Hi Squirrel

Does the set have a mode that makes a 4:3 fills the screen, I do not mean 16:9 mode (as used in DVD’s ).

If you mean the LS60, yes it has a "smart mode" which stretches the 4:3 image at the edges to make it fill the screen. I presume the LS35 has this too....

its on comet online for £519 with stand, the PRC price is also with stand, but I saw it in sainsbury's of all places last night for £630. Incidentally they had it plugged into a philips all in one dvd system just sitting there so I thought it was rude not to crank it up. They had disney's tarzan in and the picture was amazing (thought those all in one jobs were supposed to be cak:confused: ). Anyway I want this TV now, I might hit comet upside the head with my stoe card.

Same casing as LS60, but LS60 has slightly different colour. You're right, looks gorgeous in the flesh (but photographs badly). Cabinet rules too IMO.

Yea sexy beast, I prefer black equipment, but this one caught my eye with all those curves, (doesn’t make it look too big). As Squirrel said bet its a bu**er to move.

    That's the 4:3 version isn't it.

Well the KV21LS30 could do NTSC, so I don't see why the KV21LS35 shouldn't. You can double check at www.sonyeurope.com
