Hi all, newby here

Got Sky+ installed (lovely :) but now that I'm watching more stuff in 4:3 (as it auto switches which is cool) but the black edges down either side are driving me nuts due to some lower edge pin cushioning.

What I really need is some info on how to get into the service menu for this particular model....anyone have any advice they don't mind sharing with me please? I have searched through the archives here but can't find the TV model and suspect that my remote is different to the newer ones.

I have read some stuff on the net from here buy I'm a bit confused about the terminology.

For instance...

Turn on the main power switch and enter into the stand-by mode.
Press the following sequence of buttons on the Remote Control:
info/disp (OSD) I assume that this must be the main OSD that you set picture brightness etc?
5 (Number 5)
vol+ (Volume Up)
TV What does that mean...TV on from standby?

-or-

[it] What does that refer to?
[5] (Number 5)
[vol+] (Volume Up)
[teletext off]

I'm trying to avoid random/guessing the buttons due to a fear of screwing up the TV so I really need to be sure before I start.

So...any advice would be cool

Cheers,

Reevo

For my TV (fv32fq80) to enter the service menu you does the following :

turn on the TV, via the power button, whilst holding both the Prog up and down buttons on the TV itself. When the screen appears you should see TT, press menu - this brings up the standard menu, then press menu again - this should bring up the service menu. hope this helps.

Switch the tv off into standby from the the remote.

On the remote press:

i (the button which normaly brings up the channel name)

5

vol+

[ ] (the button which normaly exits teletext - the logo on the
button looks like a tv screen)

After pressing this last button, the tv will switch on and display TT in the top right corner. If TT isn't displayed, press the menu button once or twice until it does appear.

WARNING - BEFORE ADJUSTING ANYTHING, WRITE DOWN THE CURRENT SETTINGS
