I RECENTLY DECIDED THAT I SHOULD UPGRADE THE CONECTION FROM MY DVD TO THE TV . UP UNTIL NOW I HAVE BEEN USING THE HORRIBLE YELLOW INTERCONECT SUPPLIED WITH THE SYSTEM (MULTI-REGION) WITH NO REAL PROBLEMS APART FROM THE FACT THAT IT IS SLIGHTLY UNSIGHTLY HAVING IT ENTERING AV-4 ON THE SIDEFLAP OF THE TV.
    I RECENTLY PURCHASED AN IXOS S-VHS & 2 RCA TO SCART 137AV.
PICTURE IS NOW TERRIBLE WITH GHOSTING AND PURPLE TINGE TO THE PICTURE EDGES WITH THE MAIN PICTURE NOW IN BLACK AND WHITE WHEN PLAYING A NTSC DISC.

    ANY IDEAS ?

PLEASE BE GENTLE AS I AM VERY MUCH A PLUG AND PLAY TYPE OF GUY .

    MANY THANKS DARRYL :lease:

Do you have the Dvd player set to output S-video? or the Scart socket on the Tv configured to input S-Video?....check your manuals, the scart socket you are plugged into may not accept S-Video......either option will give a b&w pic if incorrectly set.
BTW it is considered bad etiquette to "SHOUT" :lesson:

Apologies for SHOUTING , force of habit from work reports which are required in capitols ???

Should have mentioned that PAL dvd's play fine through same set-up.

t.v. appears to be ntsc compatible as it always plays fine through the old dodgy yellow lead

Do you have to use the s-video out? Have you tried a standard scart cable from the davs500 to the TV? I have the same TV and it plays NTSC disc's fine from my pio575a, but it is connected to the RGB scart socket...

Perhaps it is time to upgrade to a proper seperates system? Trust me they do sound a lot better than the all in one kits.
