I've been told my 4 year old Sony KV-32FQ75u is beyond repair - problems with the tube.

Luckily I purchased from John Lewis with its 5 yr warranty. The JL store have told me they will offer me a replacement early next week.

Has anyone been offered a replacement set from JL - are they fair in what they will offer ?

What should I be expecting in getting a replacement for my Sony ?

Well I would be surprised if John Lewis could get hold of a replacement unit for you, though there may be a handful of refurbs around I guess. My biggest concern would be what sort of quality replacement you might end up with as this set seemed to be plagued with problems (something I only discovered after i had bought my ex demo unit from the late Techtronics). I had a heck of a job getting the aforementioned company to swap my first set when it died on me, and the current set has pretty poor geometry at the left/right extremes - particularly noticeable with text such as the Sky EPG.
Basically do not accept anything that isn't working perfectly, if you are real lucky they *might* swap it for a newer equivalent model maybe.
