    Hi,
This model does have a built in digital tuner. It retailed in 2001 when
"On Digital" was still in existence !
Not sure whether the this tuner will work with freeview ?
    Does anyone else know ????
    Thanks

Yes, it does work with Freeview.

I had this set for a year or so.

You don't get a very good EPG. It only shows what's coming on in the next few hours and it's by start time so you get channel 33, then channel 2, then 47....

Sony said version 1.09 was the last of the software upgrades, via a PCMCIA card they sent me.

    No over-the-air upgrades.

Many thanks guys. Got the freeview up and running. One more slight problem. I don't know if it's a button I hit or something but I can't seem to get rid of the subtitles on the digital stations. Any clues anyone?

Press MENU on the remote, select the bottom of the five menu screens (the one with the toolbox icon), then choose the DIGITAL SETUP option (bottom on the list) and then you'll see the DIGITAL SUBTITLES on/off option...
