Sony KV 24LS35

Does anyone with this set notice a high pitched noise coming from the rear of the set (from the tube). The reason I ask is that I noticed in a couple of shops that the KV 28LS36 seems to exhibit this problem, and they look like they are from the same range, so I wondered whether this is an inherent problem for these models (unfortunately I have been unable to view a KV 24LS35 close up).

Also, the Currys salesperson said that this model had now been discontinued by Sony - now I know you shouldn't really put too much faith in DSG staff, but does anyone know if this is true (I know this model is a couple of years old now).

I have the Sony 24ls35 very quiet. Pretty good picture but at times struggles with poor contrast, sound OK as well. Geometry is very good for widescreen less good in 4:3

AFAIK this model is still current (I would guess that Currys have stopped doing this model which happens sometimes) but it could also be nearing the end of its shelf life as I have seen a lot on special at the mo.
