I am well impressed with the picture quality but find that any text that that appears on the screen ("Universal Pictures" logo for example) is cropped either side - not something i can adjust with the picture mode 16:9,zoom,wide etc, any thoughts. It seems that the image is too wide for the screen - like a projector image that needs horizontally reducing to fit the screen.
Yes, for example i would lose half the u from universal and half the s from pictures. This is also noticable on adverts where a lot of text is used. I check 4:3 regularly when this occurs and this is the same. What is the facility RGB centreing and how does this work? possibility?
Best call out an engineer - it could be a "blanking" problem - basically where the TV decides to cut off the picture at the sides. In CRTs it is an adjustment in the service menu (Left Blanking and Right Blanking) - I assume it is similar for KP sets.
