I received my new Sony KP-41DS1U Wide Rear Projection TV I bought from Curry’s last week after my old JVC TV went wrong.

But I am getting a faint but very noticeable horizontal ghost from bright light sources agenst dark backgrounds (e.g. stars in the night sky). The problem seems most evident on DVD's with dark settings (e.g. Aliens, Se7en and The Matrix).

Turning the brightness down to 20% eliminates the problem but the images is then to dark. Any help would be greatly welcomed.

I've seen this on a few TVs here and there and turning the brightness down as you have done was the only way I could get rid of it.
